Gallery: Jillian Multiple Images in same photo

A gallery: Jillian Walking I took 5 photos of my daughter in the background and combined them to create this unique and interesting photos.  It appears that she has 4 friends!  Photoshop is one of the greatest Software Products.  The Trick to making this work, was to put the camera on a tripod and use a wireless trigger, to keep the camera from moving, and then getting the subject to pose in 5 different locations as I viewed through the view finder!

Mexican Fea ther Grass It was  a very nice day outside, so I thought I would take some photo’s of our Mexican Feather Grass.  Just used natural Daylight Lightening and manual adjustments on the Nikon D90.  Nothing to special with these photos, I thought it would make for some nice...

Gallery – Easter Portraits

I’m trying to take photo’s at least every other day and put a blog post on my website.  On Easter Sunday, I set up the Studio Lights and a White Muslin background to take these Photo’s.  The Photo’s with the Bright White background, actually used a Strobe light directly behind the subject.  This will make the white background very white and bright.  I have read that this helps give photo’s that Glamor look that you see in Magazines.  If you don’t use a back lit background, then the White will start to...

Roses – Controlled Lighting

These photo’s were taken in the evening, when I could turn off any external light and all outside light.  I setup a vase of White Roses on our Black Dining Table!  Then I setup a 24X36 Softbox Strobe light and put it up about 8 feet high angled down at a 45 degree angle to the Roses.  In these photo’s I took from many different angles and magnifications.  Additionally, I changed different exposure and Strobe intensity.  using the rear LCD screen on my Nikon D90, I was able to make immediate adjustments to get the effect I was...

Easter Roses

I took some pictures of Roses my wife purchased for Easter.  I decided to take most of my photos with no external lighting, just using long exposure times.  A little bit of Lightroom editing to resolve some White balance issues with a long exposure, brought out colors to the flowers that were close to the original White Rose!  Once of the photo’s uses an external Flash Light showing through a Blue Tequila Bottle I had in the Kitchen to give a blue tint to the light!  Playing with external light and using colored glass, gel’s,...

Impromptu Outdoor Spring Photos

The day in Austin, TX was beautiful today, so I thought I would grab the camera, gold light reflector, my daughter and her puppy Bella and take some quick photos.  Of course the trickiest thing when taking photo’s is getting your daughter to choose an outfit.  After about 10 minutes of helping her decide that the blue dress would look best, we proceeded to take some great photo’s. It’s always a challenge to get both the a puppy and 5 y/o to look at the same time and get some good photos.  You will see I picked the best 12...

Spring Photos – Using a Gold Reflecter

These Photos were taken using a Gold Reflector to highlight the Subjects faces to fill in the shadows and provide natural Sunlight. In these photo’s you can see the skin with a bronze effect that makes the subject look much warm, but not washed out! In this photo you can compare the effect the Gold Reflector has on two different Skin tones and how it brightens both of the girls faces! Beautiful photo, the sun was high in the sky over her left shoulder, so it provided natural light on her shoulder and highlighted her hair. In this...

Gallery: SuperMoon – Mar 19, 2011

A gallery: SuperMoon – Mar 19, 2011 I took these outside my back yard of the Super Moon!  I hope this doesn’t mean that we will have any more Tsunamis and Earth Quakes! These were taken with My Nikon D90 with my Telephoto Lens.  The photos were taken free hand (no Tripod) and with very little clean up on Lightroom.  Mostly bring out more vivid contrast of the moon!  One of the three photo’s is what it looked like naturally with the slight yellow tint.  The other two photo’s I did some Temperature Correction to look...
